405 Nature of Economic Activity- Trading Seventh Economic Census 2019 captures one of the most important aspect of an establishment or enterprise that is the nature of economic Activity. There are six types of nature of Economic Activity. These are :-
a. Primary
b. Manufacturing
c. Electricity, Gas and water supply
d. Construction
e. Trading
f. Services

This video explains the fifth (5th) category i.e. Trading- related to Activities Trade is defined to be an act of purchase of goods and their disposal by way of sale without any intermediate physical transformation of the goods. Thus all the trading activities, both wholesale and retail (perennial, casual or seasonal) listed under NIC-2008 divisions 45 to 47 was treated as trade in economic census. The activities of intermediaries who do not actually purchase or sell goods but only arrange their purchase and sale and earn remuneration by way of brokerage and commission were also treated as trade. The activities of purchase and sale agents, brokers were also covered under Trade.
