Exploring Isaan - Eating, Drinking and Shopping in Korat, Thailand

Destination number 2 of the road trip through Isaan is Korat. Also known as Nakhon Ratchasima. Had a few things on the shopping list which were no problem here. There's Terminal 21 and "The Mall" shopping centres as well as a huge outdoor market at "SaveOne".

Siri Hotel was great at 550 baht per night, highly recommended.

Nightlife wasn't exactly on the agenda but having a look at the available bars they definitely seemed in favour of East Asian tourists rather than Westerners. The bar featured in the video "Monkey Bar" seemed to be the only Westerner friendly bar in the vicinity of our hotel. Food was excellent and not overpriced.

After this quick stop we're heading up to Khon Kaen to stay in a real Thai village. No more hotels, we're going to be living like the locals. I've included a quick preview of this at the end of the video.
