Yes, depending on the type of scorpion, it is fatal.
When I was unboxing this scorpion a while back, she appeared to be rather lethargic. I then notice that her stinger was clipped off, probably by the previous owner - (Even if it wasn’t him, it was wrong if him to sell it to someone without mentioning).

Anyway.. as many of you commented, she did not make it. She was unable to subdue her prey without her stinger, which pretty much made her to starve to death. If you’re planning on getting a scorpion, PLEASE check its stinger to see whether or not it has been clipped off. Even a damaged one would be equally as bad.
