Laser focused? Like a waterfall? {Freedom Friday Focus}

Laser focused? Like a waterfall? {Freedom Friday Focus} Are you laser focused? Is your company laser focused? Are your plans and objectives laser focused?

Be easy with yourself if your answer is just like many people in this amazing world, with a resounding NO. The human condition can be a very challenging condition, right? Well as you know, remaining focused can be a very tough task for many thought leaders in the world, you are not alone my friend.

We have so many good ideas, it’s just hard to pick. We don’t want to miss an opportunity. We know our competition is going in this direction. If we don’t do this, somebody else will. If not now, when?
Do any of the above statements/questions sound familiar? Have you ever heard someone state anything like these regarding the “why” behind certain choices and actions? As leaders, we can be very good at justifying and defending something, even when it clearly is not the best solution any longer. Focus will serve you and your team.

Fall in love with Focus.

I’m a huge fan of waterfalls and I have a myriad of reasons. I’m sure you know the feeling I’m speaking of when you’re standing next to, or swimming under, the tremendous power of a waterfall. Regardless of size there is something that changes your physiology instantly.

Today, I’m sharing one of my favorite things about waterfalls and something that makes them unique to any other water feature.
Waterfalls have tremendous focus.

When you are in a mountainous area and you see places that have been carved out of the rock allowing the perfect setup for the beauty of a waterfall, remember, it has taken many, many decades of pure focus by that body of water to create that beauty! If the water was hitting something and being dispersed out 20 different directions right before it launches off the side of the cliff, it would have a very less than impressive trickle effect coming down the mountain.

How can you take this metaphor into your daily life and business? Where could you use a little more focus? (Even if you need A LOT of focus, start small and slow and get some traction going.)

You may not turn into Niagara Falls overnight, but with steady, disciplined, and committed laser focus, you can create the life and business of your dreams.
