Should Politicians be Able to Block you on Social Media?

In recent years, the role of social media has only expanded, and its nearly mandatory that politicians and candidates be on platforms like Twitter and Facebook to engaged with voters and constituents. In many ways, their accounts are basically political spaces, which raises a question: Should politicians be able to block you on social media?

My view is that they shouldn't because their official profiles are public spaces which citizens have a right to access. Further, the ability to mute people should be sufficient, which protects politicians from inappropriate behavior without removing the right of a person to access the words of an elected official.

Because if social media is a key mechanism for politicians to communicate and campaign in 2019, access must be as universal as is possible
