Splendid Riverside Location and Speeding Trains in Rains!!!

Splendid Riverside Location and Speeding Trains in Rains!!! Today I had gone to Kamshet, which is near the popular hill station of Lonavala, Maharashtra, India. I had wanted to visit a particular spot for a long time. And there is no better time than the monsoon season to do it. After getting down at the station, I had to walk for about 5 to 10 minutes and climb up a small hill. The view is beautiful as you get to see the railway line parallel to the Indrayani River with the mountains in the background.

I had planned to see at least 5 to 6 express trains from this location, but luck was against me. Many trains were either cancelled or running very late. Finally after waiting for almost an hour and a half, the effort was worth it.

At about 11:45 am, the Mumbai LTT - Vishakapatnam Express, running late by about 2 hours. It approached at good speed and with a little honking too. The locomotive was Kalyan WDP-4D (40234).

Five minutes later, at 11:50 am, an on time running Pune - Delhii Hazrat Nizamuddin Duronto Express came curving towards Lonavala for its scheduled halt. It was nice to see the uniform red LHB rake hauled by a Tughlakabad WAP-7 locomotive (30624).

It was really nice to capture these 2 trains in a short span of time. It was raining and very windy so I had to hold my umbrella in one hand and take the video with the other hand. Sometimes you can see the umbrella coming in the way.

Enjoy the view!
