In my last video, I talked about the skill set required in your Adviser and Rule No. 2 for selecting her. Once you have shortlisted Advisers based on the business model and skill set, next focus on the Systems and Processes. Often, we are too worried about the outcome and we ignore the right systems and processes. When we invest in developing optimal processes, the outcome is automatically taken care of. Good systems and processes make the whole effort of achieving results untiring, predictable and repeatable.
Markets, by definition, are volatile but the right investment process will let you ride through the volatility relatively unscathed. When investors follow consistent and rational investment processes, keeping emotions out as far as possible, the probability of favourable outcome increases multi-fold.
An Adviser who invests in developing, implementing and continually improving its systems and processes, will provide you with services whose expected results will be as per your requirements.
So, while selecting your Adviser -
Rule No. 3 - Select the one who has systems and processes for financial planning, risk profiling, asset allocation, investments entry and exit, investments monitoring, portfolio reporting and regular communication.
