Vehicle accident resulting in drug bust

Vehicle accident resulting in drug bust Within 5 minutes of clearing off of EMS #59, my fire department was dispatched for a 2-vehicle accident with injuries. This time I am headed back towards the other end of our response area. Arrived on scene to a rear-end type collision. The driver of the first vehicle was complaining of back pain. The first vehicle brake checked the second vehicle and ended up getting love tapped. The damage was only a scratch to the first vehicle's rear bumper. The driver complaining of back pain refused EMS treatment and transport. When the first firefighter arrived on scene, he observed what he believed to be someone throwing an object out of the first vehicle. There was a syringe in the grass approximately 5 feet in front of that vehicle. State Police contacted a K-9 unit. The K-9 was observed making a positive hit on the vehicle an inside search of the vehicle was conducted. Both occupants of the first vehicle were placed under arrest for drug possession. The driver of the second vehicle was released without citations.
