So many choices for carbon MTB wheels! We put the Zipp 3zero Moto, E.13 LG1R EN & Crank Brothers Synthesis E11 head to head to compare what they feel like on the trail and the subtle differences between some of the best carbon mountain bike wheelsets out there. Some brands like e*thirteen components have stuck to the traditional "box style" design for their LG1R EN wheelset to create an extremely stiff and responsive wheel. Other companies such as Zipp, have gone the complete opposite direction by creating the Zipp 30 Moto carbon rim designed to "flex" or be "compliant" and actually adsorb some of the harsh impacts often felt while riding chunky terrain. Looking for something right in the middle? Crank Brothers has you covered with their Synthesis E11 Carbon wheelset which features uniquely tuned front and rear wheels designed to offer both stiffness and compliance in just the right way. Sure, this all sounds great but how do they actually perform out on the trail? We decided to find out for our-self and hit the hills to do some back to back runs with all three carbon wheelsets. If you are considering upgrading to a set of carbon mountain bike wheels, this is the video for you!
