Chase Sapphire Preferred: Best Credit Card for Occasional Travelers

Chase Sapphire Preferred: Best Credit Card for Occasional Travelers People often ask me: “What’s the best credit card if I only travel occasionally?” It’s the Chase Sapphire Preferred, and in this video I’ll tell you why! To signup click here:

Earning Points on Spend:
The Chase Sapphire Preferred earns my favorite rewards currency, Chase Ultimate Rewards points. 2X points on travel and dining at restaurants worldwide & 1 point per dollar spent on all other purchases.

Travel:
airlines, airports, car rental agencies, cruise ships, hotels, timeshares, local and commuter transportation (including trains, buses, taxis/limos, ferries, bridges, tolls and parking), travel agencies

Dining:
merchants whose primary business is sit-down or eat-in dining, including fast food restaurants as well as fine dining establishments.

The points guy estimates the points at 2 cents per point… but you can get more.

Sign-up Bonus:

Earn 60,000 bonus points after you spend $4,000 on purchases in the first 3 months from account opening. That's $750 toward travel when you redeem through Chase Ultimate Rewards®

At Hyatt Hotels that’s 12 nights at category 1’s, or 2 nights at category 7s.

Redeeming Points:

Redeem for cash at 1 cent per point.
