Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan pledged that his county will continue seeking justice for journalist Jamal Khashoggi and former Egyptian President Mohammad Morsi. Erdogan was speaking at an event attended by the leaders of the US Muslim community in New York City. He also addressed a number of other issues.

"Jerusalem's cause is not only the cause of a handful of Muslims in Palestine, but the dignity and honour of the Islamic world with 1.7 billion people. That's why we keep saying that Jerusalem is our red line in every platform," said Erdogan.

Erdogan is in the US to take part in the 74th United Nations General Assembly.

The Turkish President also promised to expose the group led by cleric and businessman Fethullah Gulen who, as Erdogan believes, was behind a failed coup attempt in 2016.

"This organization has built an international criminal network, which wraps around 150 countries like poisonous ivy by exploiting the good intentions of our people with words such as service, benevolence and education. It continues to be managed here from its 400 hectare headquarters in Pennsylvania," said Erdogan
