During the last thirty years there has been a significant rise in the non-religious in the US. We'll look at a recent YouTube video from the channel Religion for Breakfast that engaged with "atheist churches" or communities devoted to spiritual practice for those who considered themselves atheistic or non-religious. We'll consider how "atheist churches" can be understood from a Buddhist point of view, as well as how a secular Buddhist practice might fit in to this framework.
