I explored the country as a budget traveler first and as a wealthy tourist renting a car and cruising up and down the highways. I visited one of the most expensive hotels in Asia, the largest stilts village in the world, Brunei beaches, the jungle, browsed its crazy markets and befriending the friendly locals.

I went for a budget Higher Hotel in an area that is 15 mins walk away from central Bandar Seri Begawan. I chose this hotel based on reviews and the fact it was completed very recently. I found the Higher Hotel to be an awesome value for money and a good compromise location wise.
