The Mysterious Component of Reality with Edward R. Close

The Mysterious Component of Reality with Edward R. Close Edward R. Close, PhD, is author of Transcendental Physics. He is coauthor (with Vernon Neppe) of Reality Begins with Consciousness: A Paradigm Shift That Works. He is also author of a lengthy chapter titled "The Mathematical Unification of Time, Space, Matter, Energy, and Consciousness" in Is Consciousness Primary? edited by Gary Schwartz and Marjorie Woollacott.

Here he explains the process by which he determined, mathematically (drawing upon Fermat's Last Theorem), that something with no mass nor any energy is required to hold the universe together. This mysterious component is referred to by Close, and his partner Dr. Vernon Neppe, as Gimmel. They believe they have demonstrated that Gimmel, which is volumetric, is within every particle, atom, molecule, and living cell. They suggest it may possibly be consciousness.

New Thinking Allowed host, Jeffrey Mishlove, PhD, hosted and co-produced the original Thinking Allowed public television series. He is a past vice-president of the Association for Humanistic Psychology; and is the recipient of the Pathfinder Award from that Association for his contributions to the field of human consciousness exploration.
