5-HTP - What it is and my experience The popular 5-HTP supplement has received many positive reviews on the Internet. However, my experience with supplementation is rather negative than positive.
This substance is necessary for the production of neurotransmitters Serotonin and Melatonin, as well as to reduce the level of Cortisol, the stress hormone. But there are no identical people. For me, taking this supplement personally made me drowsy during the day, and despite an elongation of sleep for up to 9 hours, I did not provide vigor in the morning, both at a dose of 300 mg and at a dose of 100 mg.
There are no identical people. What is good for some may be bad for others. And this negative experience of mine only proves a well-known fact. Can this be explained by insufficient purity of the drug - I do not know. But I have stopped taking this supplement yet.
