In this video, I finally announce the prompts for round one of the filmathon! All of them are based upon classic movies with reading challenges attached to them, with their own cinema-ticket worth. PROMPTS
Vertigo (Hitchcock, 1958) - Read a book with a spiral on its cover
Fight Club (Fincher, 1999) - Nobody talks about fight club. Read an underrated book
Casablanca (Curtiz, 1942) - This classic movie is known for its romantic themes. Read a book that is either romance in genre, or has romantic elements
Do The Right Thing (Lee, 1989) - People of colour are constantly erased by the film industry. Read a book centered around people of colour and their lives in some way, shape or form
The Shining (Kubrick, 1980) - The amount of blood in this film could fill a swimming pool. And those twins? Don't even get me started. Read a book that's violent and get it over with
Pulp Fiction (Tarantino, 1994) - Praised for its non-chronological storytelling, Pulp Fiction is a cult classic defining a lot of filmmakers' inspiration. Read a book in an unconventional format
