Fun Holiday Gift Idea For those Unexpected Guests! ~ Who Would Not Love Cookies In A Jar?

Chocolate Chip Cookies in a Jar - Makes a fun gift or just to have on hand around for cookies any time of the year! Jar cookie recipes have been around for years, I am not sure who came up with this idea originally, the recipe is an old favorite of my moms with my own quirks like more flour, less sugar, applesauce etc. Enjoy!

Recipe
2 Cups of flour - you really need to pack this in to make it all fit
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 Cup Sugar
1 Cup Brown Sugar
1 and 1/2 cups chocolate chips (9 Oz)

Layer and decorate your jar and ingredients as you wish

You will need to mix contents in the jar with
1 1/2 sticks of butter
1 egg or substitute 1/4 cup of applesauce
3/4 to 1 teaspoon vanilla
I would have added walnuts in here somewhere if you wish to add nuts I would add about 1 cup.

Bake at 375 for 9 to 11 Minutes
Made 3 dozen cookies
