I wrote a song this summer called Head over Heels. Honestly, I have had this video for so long, but never wanted to upload it in fear of the lack of quality and the "cheesiness." But deep down, I'm proud of it and it took my brother to convince me to upload it without caring what anyone thinks, for me to finally do it! Haha. STORY BEHIND THE SONG:
This video tells a bit of my story from 10 years old up until recently. This year, (2019) I went through a lot of transitions, one being in April, with a guy I really grew to like who seemed to have EVERYTHING on my list. But, no matter how much I tried to force something to happen with us, nothing did. The closer I got to him, the more I realized though it looked like everything I wanted, it was nothing I really needed. I had so many expectations, but didn't realize that it wasn't really what I wanted. I realized that everything I had prayed and asked for, for years and years was selfish and based off of fleshly desires. I wasn't after the will of God for my life, but my will. Essentially he was everything I THOUGHT I wanted, but nothing I needed. In this video, and in the song, I am laying down all my expectations for love and being loved, and I'm giving it back to the Lord. Our lives aren't our own. When we vow to offer ourselves to Jesus Christ, we are giving Him everything without reserve. Even our expectations on who we long to marry and what we feel they should look, act, and be like. As of now, the list is thrown away. And I'm looking forward to seeing what my Heavenly Papa has planned for my love story, not me!
