It's been 7 days to the Hyderabad Case & 7 years to the infamous Nirbhaya episode in the national capital. NOTHING has changed - back in 2012 the Delhi shocker brought people to the streets to demand women safety. But the recent spate of incidents show that little has changed on the ground. Now even politicians know that citizen anger will dissipate in a matter of days. What is worse is that the Govt. seems to have found a way to deflect attention of the people - make a horrendous statement / ask for harsh punishment - keep the people frothing - while not answering the moot question - what did THEY do to solve the problem. Every single government does this.
Have we demanded clear answers on - where is the nirbhaya fund money going? - why are fast track courts not working? - why is there such little conviction rates? - where are we heading as a society?
