LG Chem, SK Innovation included on Chinese whitelist of firms to receive EV battery subsidies

Two South Korean companies have been included on a whitelist of firms set to receive subsidies from the Chinese government for the production of batteries for electric cars.
According to Beijing's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology on Monday,... the recommended firms include LG Chem, South Korea's leading chemical company, and SK Innovation.
The Tesla Model 3 is on the list,... with LG Chem supplying its batteries,... while Beijing Benz's E-Class Plug-in Hybrid's batteries are being supplied by SK Innovation.
This marks the first time since 2016 that Chinese government subsidies have been given to electric cars equipped with South Korean batteries.
