Trisha Roselle: Breaking the Curse of Illegitimacy, Part II

Trisha Roselle: Breaking the Curse of Illegitimacy, Part II Trisha follows up on the message from John and Shery Price last Sunday. Text verse is taken from Deuteronomy 23:2 NLT “If a person is illegitimate by birth, neither he nor his descendants for ten generations may be admitted to the assembly of the LORD.” Quotes: “If you're constantly sensitive over people, if you're always getting defensive, you should realize that it is an issue with you, not everybody else. That's not to put you down, but that's to say, “OK Lord, how do I get rid of it?” In church we can be so worried about hurting people’s feelings, but what about the fear of God?

ENJOY!

Hebrews 12:7-8 New Living Translation (NLT)
7 As you endure this divine discipline, remember that God is treating you as his own children. Who ever heard of a child who is never disciplined by its father? 8 If God doesn’t discipline you as he does all of his children, it means that you are illegitimate and are not really his children at all.

Deuteronomy 30:19 New Living Translation (NLT)
19 “Today I have given you the choice between life and death, between blessings and curses. Now I call on heaven and earth to witness the choice you make. Oh, that you would choose life, so that you and your descendants might live!

Derek Prince “A curse could be likened to a long evil arm stretched out from the past. It rests upon you with a dark, oppressive force that inhibits the full expression of your personality. You never feel completely free to be yourself. You sense that you have potential within you that is never fully developed. You always expect more of yourself than you are able to achieve. One word sums up this feeling: frustration.”

Romans 8:14-17 The Passion Translation (TPT)
14 The mature children of God are those[a] who are moved by the impulses of the Holy Spirit. 15 And you did not receive the “spirit of religious duty,”[b] leading you back into the fear of never being good enough.[c] But you have received the “Spirit of full acceptance,”[d] enfolding you into the family of God. And you will never feel orphaned, for as he rises up within us, our spirits join him in saying the words of tender affection, “Beloved Father!”[e] 16 For the Holy Spirit makes God’s fatherhood real to us as he whispers into our innermost being, “You are God’s beloved child!”
17 And since we are his true children, we qualify to share all his treasures, for indeed, we are heirs of God himself. And since we are joined to Christ, we also inherit all that he is and all that he has.[f] We will experience being co-glorified with him provided that we accept his sufferings[g] as our own.[h]

Hosea 4:6 Amplified Bible (AMP)
My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge [of My law, where I reveal My will].
Because you [the priestly nation] have rejected knowledge,
I will also reject you from being My priest.
Since you have forgotten the law of your God,
I will also forget your children.

There is a vast difference between believing in God and being in Covenant with HIM. When we are in a Covenant relationship with God , we bring our entire life into alignment with Him. To be in Covenant with God means that we have fellowship with God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. We are totally submitted. Entering a covenant implies that we separate ourselves from everything that could break or breach that covenant. God’s Covenant with Israel secured their provision supernaturally during their time in the desert.
