Why have there been changes to the Mormon temple endowment?

Over the years, Latter-day Saint (otherwise known as Mormon) temple ceremonies have changed in various ways. Considering the fact that we teach that our temple ceremonies are revealed from God, some people wonder why there have been changes at all.
