For many years, I downloaded everything I used that was computer related. Nearly everything. There was a long time where I also downloaded games, and would just generally try to get everything for free.

I honestly thought if I just had the best plugins, I was going to do great. Well, I pirated the best plugins, but it didn’t help my mixes much because I didn’t know how to use them anyway.

I was not ready for them—and this is really big part of the larger point that I want to make with this video.

There is no shortcut to becoming a good mixer or audio engineer.
