Fallow rut 2019 - an old buck

On this hunt, we enjoyed an enormous amount of rutting activity and the spectacle of all the deer in the paddock had to be seen to be believed. We took a break from reducing the numbers of does on the property to enjoy hunting the rut and take a few bucks. This old fella was a proper warrior; lots of battle scars and in much poorer condition than some of the younger bucks he was mingling with.
This was the second buck my partner shot in the 2019 rut. Her first was at a different property and much earlier in the season, and he came into the rattle hard. Unfortunately, we didn't capture that on video.
My partner hunts with a Mauser M18 chambered in .243, with Tikka 90gn factory ammo. Shortly we will begin reloading for this rifle as our factory ammo supplies are dwindling.
My partner also buys her hunting clothes from 'The Aussie Huntress'. Until she found this website, it was difficult to find hunting clothes that fit the shape of a lady.
