Dave has a long record of success. We think he’s capable of putting a great team together and he’s going to get that opportunity. To the extent we need to make changes in personnel or the way we do things, we’re going to discuss that.” see also 'The right person:' Why Giants spared Dave Gettleman Dave Gettleman is staying, and he could be around for...  The continued development of Daniel Jones has to be the top priority for the next head coach.  Followed by the customary restoration of Giants Pride, and the restoration of the Giants defense, which has been an embarrassing disgrace to those who come before.  Shurmur was less of a project than Ben McAdoo. But more of a project than Ron Rivera or Mike McCarthy.  There are two types of head coaches the Giants desperately need to replace Shurmur.  A proven winner is more often than not the best place to start. Tom Coughlin was a proven winner when he became Giants head coach in 2004. Dan Reeves before that when he succeeded Ray Handley.  Ron Rivera is a proven winner, but he appears set on working for Daniel Snyder’s Redskins over Gettleman’s Giants. Which is another bad look for Gettleman, who went to Super Bowl 50 with Rivera in Carolina.  No one will argue that a builder is what the Giants need in the worst way.  Matt Rhule has resurrected programs at Temple and Baylor. He has never been an NFL head coach, and therein lies the risk because you just never know.  But Rhule has caught the NFL’s eye. He interviewed with the Colts in 2017. He might have had the Jets job last year if he was able to fill his staff the way he desired. see also College coach getting the early buzz to replace Pat Shurmur Matt Rhule is a hot name again in a New...  “I’m never going to be in an arranged marriage,” he said. “I’m never going to sub-contra
