One sales management strategy is to keep top performers even if the salesperson is evil. If someone knows how to sell more and how to close more sales they are able to help the yearly budget. Some companies will keep someone they know is doing bad for the revenue and they dont care. This person could be a sociopath on the sales team and create sales sabotage and nobody from the management will care. The way management looks at it most salespeople will never reach sales basics mastery so they keep the worst of the worst. Failure in business can happen when the wrong people are kept. You can have real problems with salespeople for ethical reasons and they are left on the sales team. One of the reasons why salespeople fail is they are tires to a scumbag salesperson who creates problems plus revenue. The revenue covers sins. The sins are considered success in sales because something was sold. As far as sales strategies and tactics go this is one of the weakest ways to do business. Horrible salespeople are kept because they have what are deemed as good sales skills.
