Secondary Schools, No Universities, Are Africa's Best Bet | Given Edward | TEDxOysterbay Given makes the case that we focus so intently on higher education because the pressures are obvious. From spiking unemployment rates to increasing youth population growth, nothing seems to be changing. However, on a continent where only 6% make it to university, Given argues that we downplay the pain felt by 94%, consequentially failing to see the potential as well. Given Edward is an innovator working on educational technology in Africa. He is the founder and CEO of Mtabe Innovations, a startup that provides learning content and support to secondary school students with no access to internet, smartphones or textbooks.
