Vineyard Container Pavilion, in Marlborough, New Zealand by Fraser Horton Design. In this video, we bring you Vineyard Container Pavilion, in Marlborough, New Zealand by Fraser Horton Design. Vineyard Container Pavilion is striking container pavilion, that combines high-end elegance with rustic charm, Located at the Constellation Brands in Marlborough, New Zealand. The brief from the client was to create a completely off-the-grid dining pavilion to entertain guests sitting amongst the vines in a vineyard .The containers are painted with Porter’s Paints Liquid Iron, a finish that creates the same look as rusty containers, without affecting the weather tightness of the container walls. The pavilion is built from two 40 foot shipping containers placed side by side. The containers are elevated off the ground to keep the containers away from moisture, and also to create an elevated position to build a deck to enjoy the vantage views of the vineyard. The container walls are cut out in the middle to create two big openings on both sides of the pavilion. The openings are fitted with up with oversize pivot doors rolling on arcing tracks, to reveal an elegant internal dining space. By having large side hung glass doors the pavilion opens up and blend the lines between inside and outside, perfect for the sunny afternoons and warm evenings. Project Summary.
