Melle is the first fledgling to make it home to the nest tree this morning! There was a beautiful fly by first early morning - think this was Elle with that large wingspan! Then about 45 minutes later, Melle is seen from cam 5 flying to the island across the nest and is chased by gulls. I zoomed in so you could see him & the gulls interacting. Melle flies back towards the nest with gulls chasing him - he lands on a little branch & then hops to another one! Welcome back Melle! Beautiful views of Melle from cam 2 & 3 in addition to the nest cam. Melle stays just over 5.5 minutes before trying to jump to a different branch. He misses & falls to the bushes below the nest. We hear thrashing around when he falls then quiet. A few minutes later we see Melle fly to the rocks and stay there a short time before flying off to the right. Melle is learning the ropes now & also how pesky these gulls can be! Thank you for watching!
