Keep that quote in mind because first I want to tell you about today's sponsor the author Richard Elsliger: Anyways, now back to the idea that solitude is dangerous. First it's important to discuss Jim Carrey and Marriage. He was married twice and then after the mid nineties he never married again. Jim dates and has girlfriends but since he got divorced he's never tied the knot. Even with longtime girlfriend Jenny McCarthy he never married her. So I'd like to think that he's going his own way. So with that out of the way why is solitude so addictive for men once we realise how calm and peaceful it is. Why do we want to avoid people at that point and why do people drain our energy. I know from personal experience from spending weeks and even months alone that you get into a deep state of relaxation that's addictive. Solitude helped me heal my body because I didn't have to deal with the stress of social interaction. It lowers your cortisol so it reduces getting heart disease, stroke, cancer, diabetes and many other illnesses. When you don't have to deal with the internal struggle of trying to please a woman and family you fall into a deep disconnect from the world and life becomes both more difficult and easier at the same time. You can work like you always have but while you're working it's more laid back. When you're in your fortress of solitude it also makes women squeemish and most guys don't know why. The way I see things women want men to accept that her nagging and being her emotional tampon are just the natural waters you're supposed to swim in. That living in constant conflict between a man and woman is perfectly normal state. For a woman it is because from my experience they tend to enjoy it and it recharges their emotional batteries. But from the male perspective it drains ours. Again maybe that's just me but other guys have told me the same thing. I first realised this after contemplating my vacation alone on massive road trips. I innitially
thought it was the beautiful sites that I was exploring that made the experience awesome but that wasn't the only thing. It wasn't the things that I was seeing that made me feel so good getting away. But it was the social isolation. The long drives for weeks at a time between places were what put me in a deep state of relaxation. I wasn't on the internet and mentally distracted.
