After a two day visit to Te Tuhi Gallery observing & listening to Vaka artist Ioane Ioane. The year 9 & 10 students created their own version vaka to test & race as an end of the year programme, initiated by their teacher Mr Rangituhia Hollis & Mr Sam Harris who is also a part of the STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathmatics) group Kahui ako, which involves the Manurewa Community of learning, or the schools that feed into Manurewa High, namely the neighbouring intermediates and primary schools.
